Common design : Aurora borealis made of 14 little stars representing an allegory of communication
Countries using their own design : France (one stamp (out of 2) depicts the Cathedral of Aachen in Germany), Spain (one stamp (out of 2) depicts a tower made of little men).
Designer : Paavo Huovinen (Finland)

Note : The CEPT logo is depicted on the French stamp with own design and on the set of Monaco. Most stamps issued in late April or early May.

"Chain"

Common design : chain, the O of Europa is one of the links of the chain.
Countries using their own design : France (one stamp (out of 2) depicts the Basilica of St Mary of Salvation in Venice).
Designer : Helgi Haflidason (Iceland)

Note : The CEPT logo is depicted only on the French stamp with own design. Most stamps issued in early May.

"Sun"

Withdrawing countries : Austria, Denmark, Finland, Great Britain, Norway, Sweden, Vatican
Common design : sun composed of 24 interwoven wires one for each CEPT member.
Countries using their own design : Greece (one stamp (out of 3) depicts an owl, Antique symbol of wisdom).
Designer : Louis Le Brocquy (Ireland)

Note : Since that year, each country is allowed to issue one stamp within the set with their own design, only Greece used that new rule. Most stamps issued on the 4th of May, close to Europe Day (9th of May).

Common design : three cogwheels. The central cogwheel has the CEPT logo in his center and 22 teeth, one tooth for each 1967 members of CEPT.
Countries using their own design : San Marino (Map of Europe) - Liechtenstein (their design is slighly different, their coghwheel has only 10 teeth)
Designer : Oscar Bonnevalle (Belgium)
