"Famous people"

Number of countries : 32
Debuting countries : none
Returning countries : Great-Britain
Withdrawing countries : none

The Faroese post wasn't happy about the color of the first printing of their stamps. Those stamps were burnt on the local dump. A child playing there "saved" a few sheets of those never issued Europa stamps. They are sold on the internet for more than 1000 € per set !

Note : Four countries (Gibraltar, Iceland, Ireland, Liechtenstein) used the four CEPT letters instead of the official logo. Most stamps late April early May.

Gibraltar isn't in fact a CEPT member but issue each year 4 stamps on the same topic as the Europa stamps but without the official logo. As they are British colony on European soil those issues were always tolerated.

Note : Five countries (Cyprus (Turkish post), Gibraltar, Iceland, Ireland, Liechtenstein) used the four CEPT letters instead of the official logo. Most stamps issued in May.

1975

Europe

Issue n° 20 - 1975

"Paintings"

Number of countries : 23
Debuting countries : Cyprus (Turkish post)
Returning countries : none
Withdrawing countries : none

First Europa issue of the Turkish part of Cyprus. Due to the political situation on the island of Cyprus, the stamps issued by the Turkish part of the island aren't recognized on an international level. Even if those stamps bear the Europa logo, they are not official Europa stamps but most of the Europa stamps collectors collect them as they issue Europa stamps on a regular basis since 1975 !

Note : Again, many countries not using the logo but only the CEPT letters. Most stamps issued on the 28th April.
